Help with the lily pads?!

I can't seem to get the 1st lily pad to do anything after I pick up the paddle. What am I doing wrong?

If you are referring to the pad that you use like a boat in Triba's Temple, then the way to make it move is to face your character in the opposite direction of where you want to move and hit alt or click the circle with the picture of a paddle in it. That should move you and the pad in the correct direction. Hope this helps
